Kinda messed up they call it a Bastard Sword

Fucked up to call the sword a Bastard, just because it's inbetween the length of a short sword and a long sword. To be fair the sword is far from being a bastard it's actually the perfect length for a sword, it's long enough to be held with 2 hands if you want and short enough to be held with one. Perfect versatilit.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being born out of wedlock, so actually Bastard Sword seems like an ok name to me

maybe theyre not calling the sword a bastard, but saying that it's the bastard's sword? like "only a bastard would use this blade."

i'm just kidding i think the actual reason is that it's the sword between shortsword and longsword, the bastard child of the two.
